El ayuno, ¿es apto para todos?
El ayuno está de moda, ya que ha demostrado tener efectos antienvejecimiento, facilitar la pérdida de grasa, mejorar el estado de ánimo, proporcionar claridad mental y cognición aguda. No sería prudente que una persona que ya experimenta sarcopenia o dinapenia se vuelva aún más deficiente en proteínas o desnutrida en general.
Para las personas que prefieren no ayunar o para quienes no se recomienda el ayuno, ciertas prácticas pueden ayudar a inducir algunos de los beneficios del ayuno incluso en ausencia de restricción calórica. Por ejemplo, la dieta cetogénica muy baja en carbohidratos y rica en grasas es una poderosa estrategia nutricional para reducir la glucosa en la sangre y los niveles de insulina.
